After six months of UK users being unable to watch premium music videos, Youtube and PRS have finally come to an agreement that will allow videos to once again be streamed in this territory.

Youtube PRS

The U.K performing rights collection society PRS for Music and YouTube have announced a new licensing agreement that covers music contained in videos streamed on YouTube.

The agreed rate between YouTube and PRS for Music has not been confirmed, although the Times reports that YouTube has agreed a one off payment rather than PRS for Music's new rates. It has been said that PRS' payment to musicians for online works has been lowered by 61%.

Viewers can now enjoy watching premium music videos on the worlds most popular video hosting website, and musicians can once again be rightfully paid for their works exposure.

What are your thoughts? Glad to have those videos back? Should musicians be paid more for their works online, or not at all?
